Cisco today announced its intent to acquire privately held Arch Rock Corporation, a pioneer in Internet Protocol-based wireless network technology for smart-grid applications. Palo Alto, CA – HP today announced that it has increased its proposal to acquire all of the outstanding shares of 3PAR Inc. (NYSE: PAR) to $30 per share in cash, or an enterprise value of $2.0 billion. The proposal represents an 11 percent premium above the most recent price offered by Dell Inc. of $27 per share. Recent news stories have highlighted how consumers in the U.S. soon will be able to pay for products and services with a wave of their smart phones. Palo Alto, CA – HP today announced that it has submitted to 3PAR Inc. (NYSE: PAR) a proposal to acquire all of the outstanding shares of 3PAR for $24.00 per share in cash, or an enterprise value of $1.6 billion.

Santa Clara, CA –  Intel Corporation has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire McAfee, Inc., through the purchase of all of the company’s common stock at $48 per share in cash, for approximately $7.68 billion. Both boards of directors have unanimously approved the deal, which is expected to close after McAfee shareholder approval, regulatory clearances and other customary conditions specified in the agreement.
