Microsoft has unveiled a new sexier Xbox 360 console at the E3 Conference. The big suprise? That it could be selling as soon as today, June 15th, or at least sometime this week. A little tight on space on the ol’ entertainment stand? While I have not seen an actual measurements for the new design it seems significantly slimmer and smaller than the current Xbox consoles out today with a sexy gloss black finish. Boasting a massive 250GB hard drive it will offer more room for movies, games, music, and other downloadable contenet. Got a need for speed? It comes with built in “N” Wi-fi. Now, it is still compatible with B and G wireless routers, but N will offer faster connections to keep you fraggin’ without laggin’ (Ok… sorry! Bad pun but it was just THERE!). Oh! The Wi-Fi is BUILT IN! No external paripharels needed. For those of you that need more than just the two USB ports on the front, now 3 more have been added to the back (there will be a POP Math quiz later…). The cooling system has been redesigned to offer quieter and more efficient cooling without having all the noise by moving to a larger single fan design. Dedicated Kinect port (formally known as “Project Natal”) will make this unit ready for upcoming Kinect hardware and games to be released this upcoming fall / winter. Just think Nintendo Wii but without the controllers and add other features like facial recognition and voice recognition. From all the videos I have seen online it seems that it’s not just for games, but control of most xbox functions and interface.  HDMI port still on the back also. The Toslink port has been moved directly onto the back also. The brick of a power supply seems to be gone in favor of a built-in power supply.  Pricing has been posted at $299.99 on Xbox.com. Composite A/V cable, headset, and a wireless controller are included.  Keep your eyes and ears open for more to come and check back here soon! I will try to post more details as I get them.
