Zuna Infotech’s Chief Operating Officer Jim Harter joined Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels, Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight, Howard County Commissioner David Trine, and former Kokomo Mayor Matt McKillip today at a media conference in Kokomo, Indiana USA. Mr. Harter was on hand to announce Zuna’s opening of its headquarters in Kokomo and the company’s plan to create more than 400 new jobs in the coming years.

After a search of several months through several cities and states, Zuna is establishing its home in Kokomo. From its Kokomo headquarters, Zuna will offer comprehensive services in product engineering, IT Services, and custom research in focus areas such as security, healthcare, and technical support. Zuna concentrates on providing services and technology functions to businesses, at competitive rates locally, providing a viable alternative for businesses that often outsource to other countries.

In launching in Kokomo, a city hit hard by the downturn in the automotive segment, Zuna is accepting the Indiana Economic Development Corporation’s offer of up to $1.16 million in performance-based tax credits and up to $145,000 in training grants based on Zuna’s job creation plans. Zuna is also accepting the Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance’s coordinated support from the city of Kokomo and Howard County, which will provide local incentives totaling more than $500,000, including local training grants for new employees, tax incentives and relocation support based on new employment.

Anju Bajaj, chief executive officer of Zuna Infotech said, “Zuna Infotech is excited to be basing our operations in Kokomo. We are very impressed with the enthusiasm and commitment demonstrated by everyone we’ve worked with and look forward to becoming part of Kokomo’s long-standing tradition of innovation and firsts.”

“Many individuals made this day come to fruition but I personally want to recognize Don Foley of the Indiana Economic Development Commission and Jeb Conrad of the Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance for structuring the incentives that made Kokomo so competitive. I also thank former Kokomo Mayor Matt McKillip for guiding us through the entire process from our first meeting months ago in a coffee shop to this exciting day of opening,” said Mr. Harter. “Because of Matt’s results and background, we’ve asked him to continue to assist Zuna as a senior advisor,” concluded Mr. Harter.
