Dell announced today that it will close its Twin Falls customer contact facility during the fourth quarter as part of company-wide efforts to increase the efficiency of its business and provide better value for customers. The facility will ramp down in three phases from now until January 2010.

Approximately one-fourth of the 500 employees at the facility will remain employed by Dell in other locations or through a remote, work-from-home program in Idaho. Employees leaving Dell will be offered a package including severance pay, benefit continuation and other assistance.

“As we continue to invest in technology and processes to deliver the types of services our customers want, facility optimization becomes a critical part of Dell’s strategic priorities,” said Jan Uhrich, vice president, Dell Services. “We appreciate the contributions of our Twin Falls team and thank them for providing our customers with a great service experience. We will do all we can to help our employees and community partners through this transition.”
